Weeknotes: 02/23/25-03/01/25
This Week:
- We hosted a talk by historian Harry Bradshaw Matthews about Frederick Douglass' connections to Oneonta. It was a fascinating talk, and showed how Oneonta was intimately connected with the Underground Railroad and the Abolitionist struggle.
- In MUST204, I taught the students how we accession objects into the collection, and also talked them through the NAGPRA repatriation process.
- I responded to a NAGPRA claim on human remains and funerary objects affirmatively, and we transferred legal control, moving us towards getting these ancestors home.
- We gave a tour to SUNY Oneonta’s Museum studies intro students. They were delightful guests!
- I didn’t buy anything on Friday, and I hope you didn’t either.
