Weeknotes: 07/11/26-07/25/26

We spent two weeks in the Canadian Maritimes.

It was a truly magical, unforgettable experience, and I’m delighted and overjoyed to have gone on another wonderful adventure with my family.
There were too many amazing things to document; so much of the trip was just the being and the being together. But I am still thinking about Joggins Fossil Cliffs, the Green Gables Museum, Burntcoat Head, the whole city of Halifax, Louisbourg, and the exaltant beauty of the Cabot Trail. I’m also fascinated and thoughtful about the many Mi’kMaq indigenous places and people we saw and am honored to have spent so much time in their lands.

While we were there, I read Leonard Cohen’s “Book of Longing”, a father’s day present from Alanna that was funny, sensual, and deeply thoughtful. My soundtrack for much of the trip flew between Spiritualized, Sibylle Baier, Ratboys, and Open Mike Eagle.
