Weeknotes: 08/15/26-08/21/26
This Week:
- I assisted in the installation of our newest exhibit “The Four Seasons.”
- I did some work planning for upcoming programs.
- I spent some time getting the syllabus for our upcoming FLP102 class “Collectors and Collecting” in order. Taking a cue from Alanna, I’m trying to make the class as analog as possible, to increase class engagement and to reduce the students’ dependency on genAI.
- I finished reading “The Lies of Locke Lamora” by Scott Lynch. This is a classic of 21st century urban fantasy, full of great characters (especially women, who are usually sidelined in this kind of thing) and I can see why Alanna liked it so much. The pithy description I have of it is that it’s Ocean’s 11, set in a magic-filled renaissance Italy. Great stuff!
- Later today, I’m picking up Dominic from Camp Stomping Ground. I can’t wait for a car ride full of camp stories!
