My Wish list
Here are things I like, want or think might be interesting to own.
Music
I buy and listen to a lot of music. Here are some places to acquire it for me.
- My Bandcamp Wish list.
Bandcamp is a reasonably ethical platform for musicians to sell music, merchandise, and announce information.
Books
I read a lot of books. Here are some places to find books I like, and places to buy them.
- The Green Toad Bookstore
My local independent bookshop. You can order books through their website and have them sent to the store or your home.- If you want to buy me something to read, here’s a semi-regularly updated list of books I’m excited about.
Gadgets
Gizmos, geegaws, and equipment
- Raspberry Pi Boards
I have been using Raspberry pi boards for music, games, and other cool stuff. I can always find more uses for another one! - Remarkable 2 E-Ink Tablet
I am legitimately curious about these, and would love to have a usable e-ink writing tablet that works. - Framework Laptops
Fully mod-able, durable and light laptops? Yes! - Aventon Abound Ebike
More and more, I find myself wishing for an easy, car-free trip to work or the grocery store. I’m also intrigued by the more expensive Specialized Globe Haul ST especially since we have a Specialized dealer in our town. G& L Fullerton ASAT Deluxe Special
I don’t generally dream about new guitars, but I’ve been dreaming about this one.I got one!- Steam Deck
I don’t have a console, so the gaming I do is on my PC, and a lot of it is through Steam. The idea of a steam deck, which allows a portable version of the PC gaming experience and is compatible with my Steam library, is too good to pass up. - Prusa i3-mk3s 3d Printer
I’ve been persuaded that these workhorse 3d printers are great for introductory users who want to get into 3d printing, and that the act of buying a kit helps you understand them better throught assembly process. The Light Phone
I have owned smartphones and “feature phones”, and have enjoyed the straightforward simplicity and attention bounty that comes with having a less-complicated phone. The Light Phone, though a bit expensive, straddles the line for me, including basic phone features plus a couple of useful things like navigation and music playing with a simple, clean interface.I bought one!- The Fairbuds
I have so far avoided getting wireless earbuds, largely because they seem the epitome of a disposable object. But these are made to be durable, and with replaceable batteries, and I might be willing to give them a shot.
Supplies
Odds and ends that I regularly run out of
- Deans Bean’s Marrakesh Express Coffee
My favorite regular brew, by a really excellent ethical company. - Aeropress Aerobie Filters
For the most part, I drink coffee out of an Aerobie Aeropress. The filters are the only disposable part, and they go right into the compost for our garden. - Leuchterm1917 Notebooks
I keep journals, mostly using the Bullet Journal method, but also to write ideas and plans. Leuchterm make great notebooks that I can always use more of. Gridded or Dotted please! - Jetstream Parker Refills
These are refills for my beloved Parker Jotter pens. - Elixer Phosphor Bronze Guitar Strings
I play guitar with my family and friends, and these strings have been on my acoustic guitar since I encountered them in the early 2000s. They’re not cheap, but they last a long time and they feel and sound amazing.
Clothes and Apparel
Stuff I’d like to wear. In general, Size L or XL for t-shirts please
-
Political cat shirts made by NathanNunArt. Honestly, they’re all great, but I would especially love “Swords into Plowshares”, “the Litterbox of History” or “Paws Steady, Claws Ready”
-
Darn Tough Socks These socks are ridiculously comfortable, reasonably stylish, and guaranteed for life. Large size, micro crew, mid-weight hiking socks are my favorite, but I love every color or style I’ve seen so far.
-
I’m in the market for a new work bag. I like a lot of Filson products (Thanks to Alanna who found them!) and they make what looks to be an excellent Tin Cloth Briefcase.
